Missed the first movie so had no idea of the main characters. Enjoyable in small doses. The film had its moments, the song and dance sequence, tributes to 30s Hollywood musicals. There were no spectacular ups and downs where the audience can really root for the hero or villain. We laughed and cried at the right moments but no deep lasting impressions.

Brilliant. The first scene had Tom Waits. That in itself is worth the ticket price. It is a love story told by Roberto Benigni, the same director who helmed 'A Beautiful Life'. In his hands, a simple love story runs the gamut of emotions, the comical, the sad, the poignant moments. He also uses the current Iraq war as the background and gives his own take on the American presence in that country.
