Malaysian take on the suicide bombers in the South East Asian region. The film tries to delve into the reasons behind the bombings. The director shows a typical public confession session staged for the media while the police are shown as succesful professionals in combating this new global threat. There seems to be a deliberate decision to make the film in a detached style.
I had the feeling that the actors purposely say out their lines in a deadpan manner. There were no facial expressions per se. They seem to be just the mouthpiece of each segment of society that was represented in the film - the terrorist/extremist, police/government, public/media. Maybe it is a reflection of what is happening, we are just parroting what the leaders say. Sacrificial lambs to a higher cause - the mighty or those who assumed they have the might..
